Pension holders don't understand their providers' net-zero goals, survey finds

Yet net zero targets are supported when explained, with many pension holders considering divestment around climate change, LGIM survey finds

Nearly nine in ten (87 per cent) defined contribution pension holders do not appreciate the importance of net zero targets, largely due to a lack of understanding, according to a survey by Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM).

The pension provider found that despite constant feedback that members wanted to invest in more climate-aware strategies, the term ‘net zero’ was failing to hit home, with 25 per cent never having heard of the phrase, and another 31 per cent unable to explain what it means.
