Aaron Donald joins Todd Gurley as a Pizza Hut ambassador this season.
In its second season as an NFL partner, Pizza Hut has a brand new ad campaign featuring Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyler Lockett, as well as activations aimed directly at fans.
“Our first season with the NFL was amazing,” says Marianne Radley, chief brand officer at Pizza Hut. “Ultimately, the priority for year one of the partnership was to increase awareness and reach more fans across the country – which we achieved.
“The partnership helped us reach an entirely new audience of football fans, allowing us to dominate share of voice among NFL social mentions within the pizza category throughout the 2018-19 season.”
Pizza Hut signed Donald, a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time Defensive Player of the Year, as a new brand ambassador this year. He stars in one of the ad spots for the season and will be offering an exclusive fan experience.
Asked what makes Donald a good fit for Pizza Hut and its partnership with the NFL, Radley says it began with Donald’s love of pizza.
“Aaron is a perfect fit across the board. First and foremost, Aaron is an avid pizza-lover,” she says. “Additionally, we have a great relationship with the LA Rams, they’ve been awesome partners and Aaron really stood out because of his love of pizza, charismatic personality, and of course, his incredible play on the field. He’s just a perfect fit.”
