As BTS gets ready to deliver their upcoming album Map of the Soul: 7 to the masses all around the world next month, the septet’s older collections continue to rack up streams and sales everywhere. Now, the group has earned a special honor in the U.K., one they have garnered before, and one that further highlights how much more popular and successful they are compared to every other figure in their field.
BTS’s album Love Yourself: Tear has just been certified silver in the U.K., which means the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) has confirmed it has moved at least 60,000 units. That sum includes actual purchases, as well as equivalent copies that are comprised of streams.
Seeing a full-length go silver is a big win for BTS, and it’s something they’re almost accustomed to at this point in their career. The band now claims three silver albums, and they’ve all been certified at that level in the past year.
BTS first earned a silver title when their previous release Love Yourself: Answer became their first to collect a certification of any kind last year. That set peaked at No. 14 in the U.K. in mid-2018, and it required almost a full 12 months to go silver.
