[Editor’s Note: On Monday, June 24th, two federal judges in Missouri and Kansas issued rulings to block certain aspects of the SAVE repayment plan. The Missouri ruling halts further loan forgiveness under the SAVE plan for borrowers with $12,000 or less in loans. The Kansas ruling prevents the reduction of payments from 10% to 5% of discretionary income for undergraduate borrowers, which was scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2024. These rulings do not affect borrowers of graduate and professional degrees or eliminate eligibility for PSLF or IDR Forgiveness.
